WE’RE GOING YELLOW! Province allows PHU to ease COVID-19 restrictions a bit

The region served by the Porcupine Health Unit is being allowed by the provincial government to move from orange to yellow COVID-19 restrictions, effective 12:01am Monday.

Late Friday, PHU announced the easing of restrictions.  However, medical officer of health Dr. Lianne Catton cautions that despite only three active cases in the area, neighbouring health units have high rates of infection, outbreaks and what she calls “an alarming presence of variants of concern”. They are more infectious, she adds,  meaning they can spread more easily.
