One of the long-time broadcast voices in the community has gone silent. Marg Jones who spent 28 years as News Director of CKAP now known as The Moose died after a lengthy illness yesterday.
She was 83. She reported on all of the big and small news stories from across our region including the Mill and the Agrium mine. Tributes for Marg have been pouring in from former broadcast colleagues who remember her as an amazing and great lady.
Kapuskasing native Dave Ouellette who was a morning show host at the age of 16 says Marg was one of a kind and will be fondly remembered for her wit, kindness and her ability to make people laugh when they needed it the most. The Kapuskasing Foodbank was one of Marg’s passions that she also devoted a lot of time too. We are thinking about Marg’s husband Don, her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.
