COVID-19 case count now 289

UPDATED AT 4:00pm: Four new cases of COVID-19 are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit.  And again, they’re split between Kapuskasing and the Hearst-Hornepayne area.

One of the Kap cases is at Extendicare.  All the health unit says about the other one is that how the person was exposed to the virus is under investigation.

Both of the Hearst-Hornepayne diagnoses are traced to contact with an existing case.

Since the pandemic began, PHU has had 289 confirmed cases.

There are no positive COVID-19 cases to add today to the Porcupine Health Unit’s running total of 285.

That’s a break from yesterday’s grim figures of four more deaths in the outbreak at Extendicare Kapuskasing and five new cases, all in the Kap-Hearst part of the region.
