Don’t expect military or Red Cross vehicles at Extendicare Kapuskasing any time soon

Long-term care minister Merrilee Fullerton is rejecting the call for military or Red Cross help at Extendicare Kapuskasing.

Yesterday, Mushkegowuk-James Bay MPP Guy Bourgoin asked for the assistance, saying staff at Extendicare are overwhelmed.

In a statement to Moose News, Fullerton’s office says the home isn’t reporting any staff shortage, and it has an adequate supply of personal protective equipment.

It also says her ministry has been working with local health care agencies since the beginning of the Extendicare outbreak.
