Construction on a stretch of Government Road in Kapuskasing has gone into hibernation for the winter.
Town staff told council earlier this week that the project will resume in the spring after initial delays when the province put a halt on construction projects due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as other weather and construction issues.
Meantime, repair work to the two bridges west of Kapuskasing could happen as early as this winter. Eric Cote of public works says contractors prefer doing bridge work during that time. We should know what company gets the contract once the tendering process is complete.
