Coronavirus in health care worker has minimal impact on TADH operations

The president and CEO at Timmins and District Hospital is assuring the public that it’s still open for business, despite a health care worker testing positive last week for COVID-19.

Kate Fyfe says contact tracing proves that no one else contracted the coronavirus from that person.  She adds that the emergency room is still ready anyone who needs it.

“We want to reassure individuals if you’re feeling unwell, our hospital remains open,” she notes. “Emergency room services are not impacted.”

The only restriction put into place is the suspension of elective surgeries.

“We’ll be looking at being able to return to normal operations by December 3rd,” says Fyfe.  “We will be closely monitoring, though, and if we can move forward sooner, we’ll be looking to do that.”

December 3rd is a week from this Thursday.
