An outdoor skating rink is coming to Riverside Park next month weather permitting. The Kap 100 committee made the announcement on its Facebook page on Wednesday evening. Chairman Julien Boucher says the skating rink is something in addition for people to enjoy in the park along with the festival of lights.

“The skating rink at the park didn’t come at a better time, with what’s happening at the arena with less activities to do so people have to go outside,” Boucher said. “They want to do activities and really pumped about a skating rink in the park.”

He adds that the rink will offer some great views for families.

“It was last winter that we decided on this idea and we start to look at where to put the ice,” he noted.  “And all of that was planned way before COVID.”
