As her health unit hits 102 cases of COVID-19, the medical officer of health for this region comments on something being experienced right across Ontario.
Dr. Lianne Catton says with every new confirmation of a case, public health officials find that there contact tracing is a bigger job.
“This is not a comment on any of our cases and I cannot emphasize that enough,” Catton prefaces her remark. She says it’s simply because the province is open again. Children are in school; businesses and workplaces are back; and people are seeking health care and mental health support. So they’re seeing more people every day.
“And with every contact, it is exceedingly important to recognize that that contact may come with an exposure to COVID-19 unknowingly.”
