Rotary Club in Kapuskasing hold two fundraisers for polio on Saturday

It’s going to be a busy day tomorrow for the Kapuskasing Rotary Club with not one but two major fundraising events. Committee member Robyn Bassari says both activities are supporting polio, a disease that Rotary Club has been fundraising for a number of years. She adds that one of the events is a nature walk.

“We are meeting at the end of Kimberly Drive at 10 am,” she said.”We are going to have some fun polio facts and we’re going on a hike.

“A Tooney drive will be held in front of the arena from 10 am to 2 pm.  There will be some information available we will be collecting any loose change you have to spare.”

Bassari says they are ready to welcome anyone who wants to come out for the walk.

“We have it set up to have up to 20 to 25 max to three groups,” she said. “I don’t think we will get that many people. but if we do we are able to accommodate on the fly for sure.”

No pre-registration is required for the walk but you are asked to respect social distancing. To learn more about the two activities you can visit the Rotary Club’s Facebook page.

Bill and Melinda Gates are behind the Rotary Clubs Polio fundraising efforts and will match dollar for dollar all of the money that is collected.
