Fire Department receives 168 duel alarms from Embridge Gas

Fire prevention and safety received a big boost in the model town this week. Embridge Gas donated 168 alarms worth an estimated ten thousand dollars retail to the Kapuskasing Fire Department as part of the company’s Project Zero Campaign. The alarms were part of 7,500 that were donated province wide. Fire Chief Pat Kennedy was thrilled with the news.

“I’m pretty overwhelmed with this donation,” Kennedy said. “This is a very valuable donation to our fire department and our community. They are a combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms so they will detect both.”

He adds the combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms help provide the early warning to safely escape from a house fire or carbon monoxide exposure.
