PHU revises, clarifies COVID-19 numbers

UPDATED 1:00pm Friday: We’re now up to 79 cases of COVID-19 in Northeastern Ontario.  The Porcupine Health Unit says the latest confirmed case is somewhere on the James or Hudson Bay coast, in a person 19 or younger.

The case reported between Fauquier and Opasatika has been removed from the PHU count.  It says the person has moved out of the region. And the two cases at the Kidd mine reported last night were included in earlier counts.

The Porcupine Health Unit clarified today that the two COVID-19 cases at the Kidd mine were included in earlier numbers.

In addition, it says that the one case reported in the Kapuskasing area yesterday turned out to be a person who has moved out of the area.  So that case has been removed from its numbers.

Seventy-eight is the revised number, with four cases still active.
