Environment Canada has issued a severe wind warning for the Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls and Hearst area. It’s in effect until late this evening with wind gusts of 90 km/h expected. Environment Canada says the strong winds are associated with an intensifying low pressure system that will pass north of Lake Superior and into our region.
Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. You may have to adjust your driving with the changing road conditions due to the high winds.
