Economic renewal campaign gaining momentum among businesses in Kapuskasing

A program to kick-start the economy and help local businesses in the Kapuskasing region is starting to gain momentum. Think local first campaign which consists of a coupon booklet and improved online access for businesses has seen an increase in traffic and more businesses jumping on board according to website developer Andy Deschamps. He noted that 30 businesses have signed up and more to come this week.

“”So far we have about 3,000 products on line with more to come this week and it’s pretty nice to see,” he said. “If you would have asked me if I like the campaign where it’s at right now I would say yes and take it for sure. Everyone is seeing the value of it.”

Deschamps says business owners have liked the accessibility to the website.

“It allows them to have that online store without the big cost or worry about building or maintaining the E-commerce site,” he said. “They can get their business growing this way and make people want to shop locally instead of going to Amazon or shopping out of town.”
