The 100th anniversary committee gave Kapuskasing Town Council an early indication what they perceive as a budget to put on the celebrations. Committee Chairman Julien Boucher reported to council that they are looking at something north of five hundred thousand dollars which was close to the first few Heritage Lumberjack Festival budgets.
Town Council asked Boucher and the committee to bring back a more detailed plan of what a budget would look like to an upcoming meeting.
Provincial and Federal government grants helped cover some of the costs in the early days of the heritage lumberjack festival. It’s hoped those similar grants would be available again to help for next year’s celebrations.
