Ontario adds over 200 new cases of COVID-19

Ontario is reporting over 200 new cases of COVID-19.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliott tweeted Tuesday morning that the province has added 203 new cases, a 0.5 percent increase.

She says the uptick is the result of localized increases with 43 new cases in Ottawa, 57 in Peel, and 24 more in Windsor-Essex.

Of the new cases, Elliott says 116 of them or 57% are 39 years old or younger.

Elliott says while it’s one day of data, the increase is “concerning” and Ontarians of all ages need to continue to adhere to public health guidelines.
