North Centennial Manor staff and residents thrilled to welcome visitors back starting Thursday

If you have a loved one in a long term care facility in our region you must have been overjoyed by the news from the Province that visits will be allowed starting Thursday. Director of Care at North Centennial Manor in Kapuskasing Wendy Tremblay says they are thrilled with the news and can’t wait to welcome people back.

“The residents and the staff are looking forward to it very much,” Tremblay said. “Some of the visitors that had become regulars at the manor have been missed.”

There is a long list of guidelines that you must follow in order for you to go and see your loved one.

Tremblay says you must first obtain a COVID-19 test.

“If someone is thinking that they want to come to see their mom or a family member next week then they should call and set up a COVID-19 test appointment,” she said. “It usually takes 2 to 3 days to get your results back and you must bring your documentation with you to the manor.”

That COVID-19 test must be done every two weeks prior to visits. For further information call North Centennial Manor at 705-335-6125. To obtain a COVID-19 test, call 705-367-4613. Testing is available Tuesday through Friday.
