The new medical building is now open in Kapuskasing across from Sensenbrenner Hospital. Doctors as well as other health care providers slow started moving in March and have had to work their way through the COVID-19 pandemic. Interim Executive Director of the Kapuskasing Health Team Denis Berube says among the amenities include seniors retirement apartments and a pharmacy.
“We have physician offices and 18 examination rooms, an OTN room for virtual consultations, and a board room,” he said. “It’s quite beautiful facility with room for more people.
Berube says everyone seems happy with the new digs.
“Having everyone under one room and the possibility of adding more healthcare partners, within the same area will make it much easier to provide complete care,” he mentioned.
Berube says there are still some last minute finishing touches to be made inside, but adds that over the next month there will be more medical professionals and services moving into some of the vacant offices that are available.
