Kap River levels are fine no concerns about flooding

Mother nature has so far cooperated this Spring and keeping some the Rivers in our region including the one in Kapuskasing at slightly lower than normal levels. MNRF Regional Outreach Specialist Karen Passmore says the snow melt has been gradual with not a lot of warm temperatures or rain.

“According to the weather station at the Kapuskasing airport, we have gone from 47cm of snow on the ground last Monday, to 14cm as of Monday,” she said.  “There is not a lot of rain in the forecast for this week, so we don’t anticipate any issues with flooding.”

The MNRF remind you to stay away from fast-flowing waters and rivers. For safety tips please visit www. Ontario.ca/floods.
