Who you can’t self-isolate with

Stricter rules on Canadians returning from international travel include one specifying who they can’t self-isolate with.

Porcupine Health Unit chief nursing officer Chantal Riopel says whether a traveller has COVID-19 symptoms or not, they can’t quarantine with anyone over 65 years old or with another medical condition.

“These individuals are at higher risk for severe illness and we need to protect them as much as possible,” she told the mayor’s health table conference.  “So starting today, individuals will not be able to self-isolate with these individuals.”

The new regulations were announced on Tuesday by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
