A good news story is always needed to get us through tough times and here is one. You are invited out to the Sports Palace on Friday morning at 9:30 to participate in a food giveaway event. The Faith Community along with several other organizations have joined forces. Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes says a large truck will be parked at the Sports Palace and everyone is invited out to pick up supplies.
“We are asking everyone to line-up vehicles on Brunelle Road facing Government Road and not block entrances to streets, driveways or parking lots,” she said. “You can open up your trunk and move from station to station and have food placed in there.”
Hughes says the giveaway is much needed.
“This is just a great way to give back to the community and to fill a void,” she said. “I know the grocery stores are struggling themselves to keep items on the shelves so this may help give them a break.”
It’s not known what will be on the truck.Those with health issues should not attend and if you are walking then remember physical distancing rules and don’t bring small children.
