COVID-19 changes the way business is done

It’s not been easy on the business community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Kapuskasing Downtown BIA President Luc Dinnissen says many business people have the same opinion that climate is very different and adjustments are made on the fly.

“We need to focus on giving people exactly on what they are looking for,” he said. “Everyone has specific items they need and we are doing the best to accomplish that until COVID-19 subsides.”

The provincial and federal governments have announced various forms of funding to help not only local business owners but employees. Kapuskasing Town Council has waived the business licenses for the entire year.

“Any help the government can do including getting rid of some red tape paperwork and that kind of stuff, is appreciated,” he said. “As for the funds, I think its important that people use them wisely, and for that purpose that you really need for in the short term is great too.”
