260 more COVID-19 cases in Ontario; announcement about school closures coming this afternoon

There are 260 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario.

Ontario health officials released the number this morning bringing the province’s total to just under 1,966.  And an additional 4,280 are under investigation.

There have been 33 deaths but 534 people have recovered.

Almost 50-thousand people have tested negative across Ontario.

Meanwhile, Ontario schools will remain closed until at least early May. Global News is reporting the Education Minister will make the announcement when he joins Premier Doug Ford this afternoon at the daily press briefing.

The pair is also set to make an announcement about the province’s eLearning plans. Since schools were shuttered after March Break officials have been looking at ways to provide online classes.
