Personal Protective Equipment still being collected in Kapuskasing

An important collection of Personal Protective Equipment continues this week in Kapuskasing. Town Administrator Guylain Baril says you still can donate extra medical supplies to our first responders in case there is a shortage. A drop-off location has been set up at the Kapuskasing Fire Department, for equipment such as masks, eye protection, hand sanitizer, protective gowns and gloves.

“You can make arrangements when you want to drop off those items,” Baril said. “That employee will be there ahead of the person dropping off the supplies. They open the garage door, the person walks in and drops of the stuff and then leaves. There is no extra touching of the PPE that comes in.”

If you would still like to contribute call 705-335-0910 and a time can be arranged for you to make your donation.

Baril says the initial plea to the community was outstanding and they received lots of donations including a huge contribution from Rayonier. He adds that donations have slowed and depending on the responses those contributions may only be accepted until the end of the week.
