FOUR MORE CONFIRMED CASES ALL IN COCHRANE

The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting four more cases of COVID-19, bringing the number to ten in its territory — Matheson to Hearst and Hornepayne, and Timmins north to the James Bay coast.

One of them is a man in his 30s who went to Emergency at Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane on Sunday.  The health unit believes he contracted the coronavirus via local transmission, since there’s no international travel or contact with another case involved.

The man is self-isolating at home and is in stable condition.

All the health unit will say about cases eight, nine and ten are that they’re all all in Cochrane, all linked to international travel and are all in home isolation.

That’s all we can expect to learn from PHU in the days and weeks to come.  It says it won’t make a media release for each case, instead updating every day on its website and social media platforms.
