EMS looking for equipment donations

Paramedics are there when we need them, and now they’re looking for help from us.

Cochrane District EMS isn’t running low on supplies yet, but with the immediate future uncertain due to COVID-19, it could be in need of N-95 masks, hand sanitizer, and surgical gowns and masks.

Medic Allan Rennie says they’re looking for donations of unused items – whatever the source.

“Businesses or people who have bought supplies and they don’t need it, maybe post-surgery or anything kind of laying around the house,” he explains, “ businesses such as dentists, mines, basically any kind of business that has this kind of equipment.”

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needed:

  • N-95 masks

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Surgical gowns

  • Surgical gloves

Arrangements can be made to pick it up.  Do not bring it to an ambulance base.

“No public’s allowed in at the moment,” sys Rennie. “We’re taking precautions not only for our patients, but ourselves.”

More details are on the Cochrane District EMS page on Facebook.
