No one between Matheson and Hearst, in Hornepayne or James Bay coastal communities has yet tested positive for COVID-19. That’s Porcupine Health Unit territory, and that information comes from medical officer of health, Dr. Lianne Catton. She didn’t mention how many tests have been conducted when she spoke to media at a gathering of Timmins agencies involved in the coronavirus response.
A testing centre opens tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 12:30 in Timmins. It will operate Monday to Friday at those times, by appointment only.
If you think you might have the virus, call the health unit. From there, you could be referred to the assessment centre, where health workers will determine whether you should be tested.
