College Boreal and Universite De Hearst make changes to programs and class delivery over COVID-19 Threat

COVID-19 threats have caused College Boreal and Universite de Hearst to make changes to their programs.  College Boreal has suspended programs and classes until March 31. VP of Corporate Services Michel Doucet says the way programs are offered will change.

“Our biggest priority is for graduating students as those are our essential clientele, and getting them ready for the work place as soon as possible,” Doucet said. “The alternative mode of delivery is something we do on a daily basis just now we have to think about it more on broader terms.”

Doucet says students still have some access to the school.

“They have access to the school, professors, IT services and other resources,” he said. “We have been noticing over the last couple of days that there has been a significant decrease in our campuses. ”

Meantime, Universite De Hearst started offering its classes on line as of Tuesday. Communications Director Lysann Boisvert says their goal is to get students to end of their semester. College Boreal and Universite De Hearst have campuses in Timmins, Kapuskasing and Hearst.
