It looks like Hockey Canada got the jump on its individual affiliates, and put the kibosh on the rest of the amateur hockey season in this country.
In a statement last night, the governing body said it is cancelling all sanctioned hockey events, including national championships, effective today, over COVID-19 concerns.
In our region, that means the end of NOJHL playoff series between Timmins and Hearst and Cochrane and Powassan.
