Habitat Interlude hosting Beach Party for International Women’s Day

An indoor beach party is one of many events in Kapuskasing next week for International Women’s Day. Habitat Interlude is putting together the fun event on Wednesday evening at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall. Community outreach worker Roxanne Lessard says the event is free, but you are encouraged to donate hygiene or cleaning products.

“We try to build our stock here at Habitat Interlude so when the women leave our shelters and return to their homes it can be quite expensive,” she said. “We try to put a giant care package for them to help reduce the costs.”

Lessard wouldn’t give details, but she did say to be prepared for a good time.

“We like to surprise our guests that come so I can’t give too much of the information,” she said. “I will say that you should come in beach attire and ready to have fun and enjoy yourself.”

It’s a first come and first serve event with no reservations, but limited space. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the event begins at 7 o’clock.
