If you are looking at finding out more about health eating! The Centre de Sante in Kapuskasing is hosting a food tasting and cooking event next Thursday, Mar. 12. Registered Dietitian Joelle Zorzetto invites you to come out and learn more about Barley and Beats.
“There will be a demo of recipes followed by taste testing,” she said. “I’ve chosen a recipe where barley will be introduced into a salad and not into soups. We will also be talking about some of the other Canadian vegetables like beets either can or fresh.”
Zorzetto says a Chicken Parm recipe and a discussion about Soy Protein will also be featured. There are two sessions planned at 5 and 6:30 pm, and cook books will be handed out
Zorzetto says the theme of the month is to think about the other side of the plate.
“How do we pick up recipes and transmit the traditional recipes that we have had in our families for years and make them healthy,” she said. “We also want to talk more about eating as a family and showing our children how to cook.”For further information or to register for this fun event call the Centre De Sante at 705-371-3006.
