Taking the plunge for a good cause! That’s what about 30 people will be doing Saturday at 1 pm in the Bay at Riverside Park. It’s a unique Kapuskasing Rotary Club fundraiser with proceeds to benefit various non-profit organizations. Organizer Don McInnis says the response for this first time event has been incredible.
“It’s going to be a great day and a lot of fun for people to come and watch,” McInnis said. “We have roughly 30 jumpers and everyone will be wearing a costume. There will be prizes for the best one. It’s a great spectator event so we hope to see a lot of people come down and cheer on the participants.”
McInnis says they were looking for an event where they could help various non-profit organizations at once.
“There could be potentially 30 different non profit organizations that benefit from this event,” he said. “Whoever collects the most money will get 50 per cent of the overall proceeds and donate it to the charity of their choice.”
