Families continue to be unwitting victims of  the war between Ontario teachers and the provincial government.  English public elementary schools are closed right across the province by a strike. It includes District School Board one Ontario North East. That’s Diamond Jubilee Public School in Kapuskasing and Clayton Brown Public School in Hearst. Next week in our region, those same schools will be closed by strikes on Tuesday and Thursday. No word yet on plans from other unions… although English Catholic teachers are doing what they call “enhancing administrative job action”.  As they work to rule, the teachers will only do their normal teaching and supervision duties… and not accept any more.  They will, however, continue to supervise extra-curricular activities.
