Schools not affected today by OSSTF withdrawal of services in some regions across the Province

Schools across our region are open for learning this morning. Neither the English or French Public or Catholic School Boards are affected by the one day strike by high school teachers. The withdrawal of services has only affected this area once since the move by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation began in late November. The OSSTF hoped the job action would put pressure on the Province to negotiate a deal. The two sides have been far apart on issues concerning class sizes, online learning and wages. OSSTF President Harvey Bishof hopes the Province will sit down and work out a deal that is good for students, teachers, education workers and the economy.
