Two fires in 24 hours keeps Kapuskasing Fire Department busy

It’s been a busy last couple of days for the Kapuskasing Fire Department. There were two structure fires over the last 24 hours that kept the fire department on their toes. The first one took place on Sunday on Sinai Road where a home was fully engulfed in flames. Fire Chief Pat Kennedy says it was too late the save the home but they did manage to save the garage that was attached. The second was a garage fire on Lemarier Street late Monday afternoon.  Kennedy says they were lucky that someone called the fire department quickly or it could have been much worse. He adds that the garage was destroyed but they did save the house with only minimal damage. No word on what caused the fires and they are both under investigation.
