Tips to help ease stress during holiday season

Are you feeling a little stress this time of the year? It’s a sure sign that the holiday season is in full swing. Between planning for parties, Christmas parties and the arrival of family from out of town, nerves can get frayed. Simon Dubosq of the Kapuskasing and Hearst Counseling Services says that it’s important to take stock of what we want to accomplish this holiday season.

“We understand that it’s the middle of the month but we also should make a list of what we want to accomplish from now until the end of the holiday season,” he said.

Dubosq says we take on the responsibility of wanting to plan everything that we don’t take a moment for ourselves.

“How am I feeling right now, am I making too much of what needs to be done,” he said. “It’s time for me to slow down for a while. With everything going on I don’t have time for myself.”

He adds that mental health check and pausing for ourselves can go along way and make a difference.
