Seniors could win a prize for getting their parking passes in December

It will soon be time for seniors to get their parking passes in Kapuskasing. Town Council decided to keep them at the current rate of $25 for the second year in row.

The parking passes are for seniors 65 years of age and older with a valid driver’s license.

Administrator Guylain Baril says they’re having a contest in hopes of you purchasing them before January 2.

“Anyone who purchases a pass in December will be entered into a draw to win one of four free parking passes for a year,” Baril said. “We hope this will help us with the flow and get people to think about getting their passes sooner.”

Baril says that January 2nd and 3rd is hectic for them as they are for them trying to close out the books from the previous year.  He adds that those who purchase the passes are thrilled with the price even though some have even suggested the prices could be higher.
