Riverside Park Christmas Light Ceremony December 1

One of the big winter traditions in Model Town of the North is fast approaching. Preparations are underway for the lighting of the Christmas Lights in Riverside Park on Sunday, Dec. 1. Event Coordinator Tanya Geno says town crews are installing lights to over 300,000 square feet of the park.

“If you are driving near the park you can notice the town workers getting the lights in place,” she said. “It takes about a month to get all of the lights up and ready to go.”

The lights will be turned on at 6:30 pm, and then turned off on January 5. The night features free hot chocolate, a decorated truck from Ontario Northland with free lights for children plus music from the Jubilee Singers and a visit from Santa Claus.
