Learning the importance of family in a Diabetic’s life! That’s the message a registered nurse with the Kapuskasing Health Centre hopes we can learn from on World Diabetes Day that takes place tomorrow. Joanne Bennett says families can play a vital role.
“The family can help with prevention and management of diabetes,” she said. “This disease is bigger than all of us. If we can involve the whole family then it can have a positive impact on the person with that illness.”
To mark the day, the Diabetes Education Centre in Kapuskasing will be holding an open house from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You are invited to drop by and receive a free screening, get your questions answered, or learn how you can get referred to the Centre.
