Secret Santa’s are popular not just at home but at the work place. Now the Kapuskasing Health Centre (Centre de Sante) is taking that one step further. Sonia Gravel, supervisor with the Aging-At-Home program says they are starting a secret Santa program in the Kapuskasing area next week.

Gravel says people can drop by any branch of Caisse Alliance (Kapuskasing, Moonbream, Fauquier, Val Rita-Harty and Opasatika) and pick up a tag off the Christmas tree.

You can then purchase a gift for a senior valued at $40. The gifts must be dropped off by December 18 to the bank so the gifts can be distributed prior to Christmas.

Gravel says the goal of the secret Santa is to help at risk seniors.

“I decided that maybe the Centre along with the Caisse (Alliance Bank) could partner in this program,” Gravel said. “I’m hoping this program will help with seniors deal with social isolation and also remind everyone that seniors are important to us.”
