If you are looking at getting a flu shot, there are a number of clinics available next week. The Porcupine Health Unit will have staff set up at the senior apartment buildings located on McPherson Avenue, Drury and Cedar Streets in Kapuskasing.

Drop by 12 McPherson on Tuesday, November 5 from 9:30 to 10:30 am, and 32 McPherson from 1:30 to 3 pm. On Thursday, November 7 the Health Unit will be at 10 Drury from 9:30 to 10:30 am and then over at 55 Cedar from 1:30 to 3 pm.

Public Health Nurse Amy Ouimette says these types of clinics are open to the public and not just to those residents.

“Anyone can come by and get their flu shots at the apartments,” she said. “We normally get a lot of the family members of the people living at those places to come in and get their shots.”

There will be a flu clinic at the Opasatika Library on Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and then in Kapuskasing next Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Health Unit’s offices. Ouimette says it’s a good idea to pre-register online.

“If people can’t pre-register online then they can call our office (705-335-6101) and the staff can set up an appointment for them. We also invite people to just walk-in that day if they don’t have an appointment set up.”

To attend any of these clinics people are asked to bring along their health cards.

Flu Clinics will be held in Moonbeam on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 5-6 pm and in Val Rita-Harty on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.

Here are the list of times below for the other flu clinics in Kapuskasing. The clinics will take place the Health Unit’s Office.
