Are you looking at getting into the holiday spirit early? You might want to consider helping out with the Samaritans Purse Canada Shoebox program in Kapuskasing. Shoeboxes can now be picked up at a variety of locations including St. Patrick’s Parish and the Public Library. Co-organizer Lisa Kowalski says they have a list of about 60 items to choose from to fill the boxes.

The boxes come with a form that has 65 different items that can be put into them like small toys, tooth brushes, hard candy, gum, pencils and erasers, legos,” she said.

Kowalski says they work with the organizers in Hearst to send on to the countries like Haiti, the Ukraine as well as regions like Latin America and West Africa.

People can drop off the filled shoeboxes at the Selke Centre on November 18 thru 21 from 10 am to noon and 1 to 3 pm. On November 22 the boxes can be dropped off between 10 am and noon. For further information contact Lisa Kowalski at 705-335-4826 or 705-6410.
