Cyber crime prevention trade show this Tuesday

If you are looking at preventing your business from cyber criminals there is an event you might be interested in. There is a technology trade show that will be held in Kapuskasing on Tuesday from 11 am to 2 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion. Sylvie  McPhail, Program Manager with the Productivity and Innovation Center, says the event will have vendors, as well as a keynote speaker Kathy McDonald. She has over 20 years of experience in cyber crime as a police officer.

“Her message will be how to recognize cyber security threats and tools to prevent any impact your business,” McPhail said. “Kathy is an author who has released a new book. She will have copies of it available and people can get it signed.”

McPhail says a recent study shows that small businesses are affected by cyber crimes.

“One out of five small businesses were targeted or affected by cyber security threats,” McPhail said. “That affected their business or organization in some degree.”

The event is but you need to register. There is a cost to set up a booth, and you can find further information by clicking on this link www.eventbrite.ca.
