One-stop shopping for seniors! That’s the goal of the Health Aging Expo put on by the Porcupine Health Unit. Those 55 years of age and older can attend the event today in Kapuskasing at the Centre De Loisirs from 1-4 pm. Public Health Nurse Janelle Martin-Edwards says there will be more than 25 different booths ranging from foot care, to the Community Health Centre, Indian Friendship Centre, the Town Of Kapuskasing as well as Sensenbrenner Hospital.
“They will have information on Occupational therapy as well as their Palliative Care room,” said. “We are also thrilled to be offering Flu Shots to seniors at the event with the Flu season right around the corner.”
Seniors can also learn about the new Flex Shuttle Bus that is being offered in the area. The Expo is free of charge and there’s even a lunch served. If you live in Smooth Rock Falls there will be a similar Healthy Expo from 1 to 4 pm at the community center. Hearst seniors can attend an expo next Wednesday at the Arts Council’s office.
