Students Hosting Meet The Candidates Wednesday morning

Candidates in the riding of Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing will be getting in front of their youngest and future voters on Wednesday morning. A meet-the-candidates forum and debate is being hosted by students at Ecole Secondaire Cite des Jeunes will feature at least four of the five candidates in the riding. History Teacher Tracy Girouard says they are still confirming whether all five of them will be at the event.   She says the whole debate and forum will be ran by students as they are learning the different jobs and responsibilities that are involved in an election.

Students will be holding their own non-official advanced poll prior to actual election day. Those results will be shared once the Federal Election has concluded to see how close the students are to the actual results.

The five vying for the riding seat are NDP incumbent Carol Hughes, Heather Wilson of the Liberals, Conservative  Candidate Dave Williamson, Max Chapman of the Green Party and David De Lisle of the People’s Party of Canada.
