Final preparations are underway for the Kapuskasing District Chamber of Commerce’s annual BAG Gala that takes place this Friday at the Centre De Loisirs. The event has been sold out for the past three weeks and features eight different awards to be handed out, including Business of the Year and Lifetime Achievement. President Alain Murray says they are looking forward to everyone being there.
“We want to take time to recognize local businesses and our members and their hard work they put into the community,” Murray said. “We are really looking forward to it.”
Murray said the business climate in Kapuskasing is quite strong.
“Some people believe that the business community is not very strong and that is not the case,” he said. “This is for us to show that there are businesses thriving and people putting in the hard work to make Kapuskasing a better place. You have to take a step back and honour those businesses and not take them for granted.”
