The first ever Kapuskasing Brewfest is more than just beer tasting. In fact, the first every event that takes place this Friday and Saturday at the Centre De Loisirs has a full schedule of activities that includes the live music on both nights. Organizer Jimmy Cote says there are some terrific events on Saturday for the family.
“From 8 am to noon there will be a farmers market, and from 10 to 2 pm there’s an artisans market,” he said. “We are also having a family day from 11 am to 2 pm where face painting and inflatables will be offered.”
The actual beer tasting takes place on Saturday starting at 2 pm. Cote says the $25 admission ticket also includes free sample coupons.
“We will have seven microbrewers, one distiller and one cider company,” he said. “For that price they can come in and explore the world of microbrewers and speak to some of the businesses.”
The event is outdoors rain or shine under the big tent. The Friday night concert featuring many local acts is sold out, while tickets are still available for Saturday. The tickets can be purchased at the Centre de Loisirs or visit their website at https://www.centredeloisirs.ca/festibiere
