Terry Fox Run in Kapuskasing Is Fast Approaching

Every year Canadians will be honoring the legacy of Terry Fox as over 9,000 communities hold Runs.  This year the 39th annual Terry Fox Run in Kapuskasing is set for Sunday, Sept. 15 and it has been moved to the Civic Center instead of the Kapuskasing Golf Club. Registration at 10:30 am followed by the start at 11 am. Parking is available and a free lunch buffet and water will be provided.

Organizer Sue Renaud says they typically raise between$5,000 to $7,000 a year.

“Even though we are a small community, we have raised over $200,000 over a 39-year period,” she said. “That’s a huge contributions for these doctors and scientists and researchers. In may seem like a small amount but in the big picture over time it pretty amazing. We should be really proud of that and keep the tradition alive.”

The Route distance is 5 km and its bike, stroller, roller blade and wheelchair friendly.
