One of the great traditions in Kapuskasing faced off at the Sports Palace last night as the Triple A Midget Flyers began training camp in preparations for the 2019-2020 Great North Midget Hockey League season that will begin next month. New Head Coach Sheldon Reasbeck says there is a lot expected of this group this year with as many as 14 players returning.
Reasbeck says he has been in contact with the players during the summer regarding their conditioning programs and expects the conditioning to be up to par in a couple of weeks. The Flyers still have a couple of positions to fill on the team and Reasbeck hopes to have that completed in several weeks. The Flyers will play the Timmins Majors in a pair of pre-season home-and-home games on Saturday, Sept. 7 in Kapuskasing and then return to Timmins on Sunday, Sept. 8.
