Carol Hughes Of NDP Incumbent in Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing

There are five people who will be seeking the seat of Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing in the upcoming Federal Election. One of them is the incumbent Carol Hughes of the NDP who just completed her 11th year in politics. Hughes says heading into the election year that she takes nothing for granted.

She says candidates need to work hard and be out there talking to people about the party’s platform and how they can help those in the riding.

Hughes says it’s a busy time during an election, but looks forward to hearing from the constituents no matter what part of the area they are from and discussing the issues that matter the most. She says that some of the issues for Northern Ontario communities are health care, transportation, affordable housing and access to broadband and internet. Other candidates are Heather Wilson of the Liberals, David Williamson of the Conservatives, Max Chapman of the Green Party and David DeLisle of the PPC.
