The Kapuskasing Horticultural Society celebrated a very special birthday this past weekend. Its 90th consecutive Flower and Vegetable Show which took place this year at the Civic Center Auditorium. President Ann Jameson says to mark the special occasion with a theme of 90 years and still growing. She says they did a variety of different things including a cake, displays of antique garden equipment.
There were 342 entries this year into the Flower and Vegetable Show Jameson says their registration numbers were up and believes the weather had something to do with it. She says that they were not sure what of participation there would be since it was a late spring. But notes that the long days and hot weather helped the flower and vegetable gardeners this year.
